The Judicial Greffe wishes to recruit a Registrar of Probate. Applicants must possess a Jersey legal qualification or similar UK qualification and have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant PQE, or have practised in the area of succession law for a minimum of 10 years and be a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Applicants should also have a minimum of 5 years’ management experience and be able to demonstrate competence in leading small teams and managing projects.
The post holder will lead the Probate and Capacity Section which is responsible for dealing with local and international applications received from legal professionals, as well as applicants in person, for the grant of probate and/or letters of administration in relation to Jersey situs assets. The post holder will also be responsible for assisting lay persons with regard to applications to Court for the appointment of delegates (under the Capacity and Self-Determination (Jersey) Law 2016) and for managing and overseeing all matters relating to Lasting Powers of Attorney.
