Legal Adviser – Tax Specialist

The Law Officers’ Department wishes to recruit an experienced tax lawyer to work with colleagues in Revenue Jersey to maximise tax revenue in the Island, including via civil and criminal court proceedings. This will include working with Revenue Jersey in the more active enforcement of existing legal provisions, improvements to policies and procedures and the development of new legislative proposals.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with significant knowledge of the tax jurisprudence of the UK and ideally experience with the General Counsel’s office of HMRC/Inland Revenue or a relevant tax authority. We are looking for someone who is focused on delivering tangible and measurable results. Candidates with transferable skills who have worked in other organisations may also be considered. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Civil Division at the Law Officers’ Department in Jersey. The work will be interesting, challenging and varied, working with different Government agencies both in Jersey and internationally. You will have the support of a friendly, inclusive and highly professional team at the Law Officers’ Department.
