Assistant Registrar of Deeds (Maternity Leave Cover)

The Judicial Greffe seeks an Assistant Registrar of Deeds on a short-term contract to cover maternity leave. The post holder will assist the Registrar of Deeds in the registration of Land Deeds, Judicial Hypothecs (Registered Charges against Immovable Estate), Wills of Immovable Estate, Powers of Attorney and various other Acts of the Royal Court onto the PRIDE System (Public Registry Index and Document Enrolment System) for the purposes of evidencing title to real property.

The post holder will either require a legal understanding and technical knowledge in the field of Jersey conveyancing or the ability to gain such knowledge in the short term. This is an interesting and varied role and the successful applicant will have excellent administrative and people skills, attention to detail and be keen to learn. The role will offer someone in the early years of their professional practice an inside view of the Public Registry and the Royal Court.
