Code of Conduct

The Law Society of Jersey Code of Conduct was adopted by The Law Society of Jersey by Resolution passed at an Extraordinary General Meeting held on 7 November 2016.

The Code became effective from 1 January 2017 and replaces all previous versions.  The terms and provisions of previous versions shall apply only in relation to any act or omission which occurred during the period of time during which that version of the Code of Conduct was in force.

The general purpose of the Code of Conduct is to specify the standards of conduct on the part of members of the Law Society of Jersey which are appropriate in the interests of the profession and of justice.  This Code of Conduct applies to all members whenever admitted to membership.
