Legal Adviser - Band 1, Civil Division, Law Officers' Department

 

The Law Officers’ Department wishes to recruit a Legal Adviser (LA1) to work in the Civil Division.

The work will often be high profile, politically sensitive and challenging.  The successful applicant will have the ability to assimilate information quickly, carry out legal research and present a point of view clearly and persuasively in person and in writing.

Candidate:

Applicants will possess a relevant professional legal qualification and post-qualification experience in one or more areas of the law dealt with by the Civil Division obtained either in the public sector, commerce and industry or private practice.

An interest in/experience of employment law and practice (contentious and non-contentious) may be advantageous. However, candidates with specialist expertise in other subject areas are also welcome to apply.

Knowledge of and an interest in the Government of Jersey would also be an advantage.

The Department welcomes applications on a full time or part time basis and actively promotes flexible working.
