Information Manager, Viscount's Department

The Viscount’s Department is looking for an Information Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for an information professional to support the work of the Viscount's Department which is responsible for executing orders made by the Royal Court of Jersey, as well as other activities set out in statute. 

These include serving summonses on members of the public, executing evictions, administering désastres and conducting other general enforcement duties including enforcing asset freezing (or saisie) and confiscation orders. 

The Department also carries out the duties of the Coroner, acts as the delegate of last resort and is responsible for the selection and management of juries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining systems to manage the records and information of the Viscount’s Department and ensuring compliance with Jersey and international legal and regulatory requirements. 

They will also lead essential IT and digital projects and develop and maintain appropriate policies relating to records and information
management.

The Information Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer of the Court Service and engage with the Senior Management Team on strategic and policy matters and with project teams in the Government of Jersey and the Jersey Archive.

This is a varied and fast-paced role that offers opportunities for growth and development and relevant training or professional studies can be provided.

Applicants must be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and have a good understanding of the relevant legislation, experience of records management and knowledge of IT systems and solutions including emerging technologies. 

The ability to communicate clearly both in person and on paper is essential.
