Director, Family Office – Trustee - Stonehage Fleming

This role involves close and regular interaction with clients, advisors, co-trustees and other divisions and business units within the Stonehage Fleming Group.

The Role

This position reports to the Head of the Family Office Jersey and involves close and regular interaction with clients, advisors, co-trustees and other divisions and business units within the Stonehage Fleming Group.  The successful incumbent will be a member of the boards of corporate trustee and corporate director companies in a number of jurisdictions and will be responsible for the smooth running of sometimes complex structures, seeking advice where necessary and ensuring that the entities within the structure are administered to the highest standards whilst complying with the relevant laws and local regulations.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  •  Understanding and managing the risk involved in a structure’s operations
  • Analysing and understanding the transactions / activities involving the fiduciary and corporate structures administered by the Group
  • Proactively managing client structures
  • Developing relationships with clients so that the Group ultimately becomes the client’s trusted advisor and maintaining knowledge of client’s circumstances, background and structures
  • Providing the wider team with technical assistance on complex documentation and specifically supporting Senior Management on complex transactions
  • Identifying opportunities for business development
  • Assisting with product development and strategy in regard to offerings to clients
  • Actively participating in the management and continuous development of the Family Office division as a separate profit centre within the Group
  • Mentoring junior and trainee members of staff and management, providing job training and guidance.
  • Maintaining an exceptional knowledge of legislation and regulation as applied to activities in relevant jurisdictions

 Application Details

You will ideally hold relevant, proven and professional experience in a similar capacity, within a fiduciary services environment in the financial services industry, and a practical knowledge of trust and company Legislation. Confidence to deliver practical trustee solutions, balancing risk management, legal responsibilities and commercial considerations is essential.
