Assistant Legal Adviser - Law Officers' Department

The Law Officers’ Department wishes to recruit additional Assistant Legal Advisers to work in the Civil Division (range between Grade 7 £33,370 to Grade 11 £60,587, depending on experience and qualifications).  The vacancies exist because of a combination of an increase in work, a member of staff leaving the Department and parental leave. The vacancies are in the Advice Team, Commercial and Contentious and the Safeguarding Teams. There will be a variety of starting dates for successful applicants who will be allocated to posts based on experience and areas of interest.

The work will often be high profile, politically sensitive and challenging. The successful applicant will have the ability to assimilate information quickly, carry out legal research and present a point of view clearly and persuasively in person, and in writing.

Applications are welcome from candidates who would be interested in the role on a full-time, part time, or job-share basis. Applications for secondments from within the Government of Jersey are particularly encouraged.
