Administrator, Property and Business - BCR Law

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative support the Residential, Probate, Corporate and Commercial team consisting of two Partners, five lawyers and other fee-earners.

The role will involve administrative support to the team, including:

  • To open all new case files and ensure the relevant checks are made using Riskscreen and the risk assessment process is started and forwarded to the Fee Earner for review and completion.
  • To complete the matter opening checklist for each file showing that each step of the procedure has been carried out.
  • To ensure all relevant spreadsheets are updated during the file-opening process and setting up clients on the billing platform, Xero.
  • To follow up with clients to obtain relevant CDD and ensure all documents are scanned and saved to the file in the appropriate section.
  • To create hard copy files if required
  • To follow the file closing procedure, ensuring any invoices have been settled, any outstanding wip written down on the system and the file archived on Lawware and hard copy file logged on the archive spreadsheet and sent to archive.
  • To assist with the preparation of invoices, under the supervision of the relevant fee earner, when other administrators are absent from the office.
  • To assist generally with administration matters such as E-filing, scanning or photocopying for the department’s fee earners.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required.

KEY SKILLS

  • Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.);
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • The ability to work in a deadline driven environment with a calm demeanour;
  • An adaptable and flexible approach to your work, able to multitask and take on a wide range of different tasks; and
  • Utmost confidentiality at all times.
  • Previous experience working in a law firm is desirable.
